Ole Kirk's first runner is a Stakes Winner. King Kirk was an impressive winner of the Group 3 Breeders' Plate at Randwick in the first juvenile race of the season. His second runner was just pipped of making it two Stakes winners from two with a second placing in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes in the next race.
It is a dream start for the Vinery-based stallion and his stock are now in strong demand.
Shane Nichols Racing were delighted to secure this Ole Kirk x A Saucy Snitzel colt from Armidale Stud at Magic Millions Adelaide for just $45,000. He was the only horse we purchased at the sale.
We bought the Zousain half-brother last year and we think he goes pretty well. He has been named Jagerschnitzel.
Ole Kirk is a son of Written Tycoon and was a Group 1 winner of the Golden Rose and the Caulfield Guineas. He also won the Listed Talindert Stakes as a juvenile. He was a phenomenal racehorse.
A Saucy Snitzel is a six-time winner in her own right, including a juvenile win and a run of three in a row. The second dam, STELLA MAREE, won three Stakes races. She is by Magic Ring, who, like Snitzel, is an excellent speed source.
This colt is an athletic type that should be running at two. He is an October foal so he will continue to improve and mature as he gets out towards a mile. He looks a sprinter/miler sort of colt, just like Ole Kirk was.
