Horse Description

We struck gold early on Day 2 at the Magic Millions on the Gold Coast with this Castelvecchio x So Magic filly, secured for $100,000.

It has been a very competitive sale again, and although we bid on a few on the opening day, I was very keen to wait for this filly as the opening Lot on the second day.

I don’t doubt that she would have made much more money if she were further into the day. We’ve bought her really well, as I was prepared to go further.

All three dams on the page are winners and multiple winnersSo Magic won three races, showing plenty of speed over 1200m and 1300m. She is out of the five-time Stakes-winning mare SO GORGEOUS, who won four of her six races in succession. She was also a juvenile winner and has produced Champion Sprinter STERLING CITY and Group 2 winner TIPUNGWUTI.

Group 1 winner KEMENTARI and Group 1-placed TELPERION feature prominently in the third dam. Amongst the many Stakes winners are ten-time winner WILD QUEEN and PRIX DE TURN, who won over $500,000.

Our filly is from the second crop of Arrowfield’s Castelvecchio, who won the inaugural $2m Inglis Millennium and the Group 1 Champagne Stakes at two. He then trained on to win the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas at three.

However, his best performance may have been when he dashed lengths clear of his rivals in a WS Cox Plate, only to be beaten late by the world-class LYS GRACIEUX

His first crop yearlings were very well received last year. They are in all the leading stables, and he will make his presence felt in the back half of the season and into their three-year-old years.

Opportunities are available and, as always, are sold at cost. What we pay, you pay.
